The local community of Mokrin expressed its desire to modernize the coat of arms of the town.
My job was to emblazon and vectorize the coat of arms so that it could be used effectively in today’s digital environment.
The challenge of vectorizing the coat of arms was the fact that it has had several different versions of the emblazon over time, and a color version had never been presented anywhere. The only exception was one representation of the coat of arms of the Kikinda district, where a painter’s version of the coat of arms was used, rather than a heraldic one.
I solved the issue of colors by identifying them through the heraldic hatchings found on the Mokrin seal from 1910.
To adapt the coat of arms to the present circumstances, i.e., the fact that Mokrin is now in Serbia and no longer in Austria-Hungary, it was necessary to adjust the design and align it with Serbian heraldry.
